Presenting a workshop at CLA was a new experience for me even after more than 30 years as a librarian. It took an amazing project like our Play & Learn Islands to get me here in front of 65 or so librarians trying to convince them that they want one of these in their libraries. Actually it has been a pretty easy sell and now I am worried we'll have more libraries who want a PAL than we have PALs. That will be a pretty good problem to have.
You did a really great presentation - everyone in the audience was riveted to your words!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I was able to attend the workshop. Angelica and I stood at the back of the audience and for me it was sort of emotional to see all our hard work revealed to other libraries.
Renee totally knocked this out of the park. She was polished, professional, and totally fun. She represented Rancho really well. We should all be very proud of her!

ReplyDeleteI "foruth" that! Great job Renee! I think your eally resonated the group. They had someone who was well educated and experienced (not just an old dog!) - someone that they valued and respected.
ReplyDeleteI think you did a tremendous job delivering the story of RC and the PALs and really helped everyone to understand how and why play / PALs are so important.
AND - you were funny! This picture popped up and the whole room laughed! I just love it!
